Using this site

Gather & Play is a free information website. By using it you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

There is nothing to buy, nothing to subscribe to and no account to create.

What you may do

You are welcome to:

  • read, play and share the games with any group, privately or at work, school, a club or a community event;
  • print the printables as many times as you need for your own gatherings, classes or events, including ones run by a non-profit or a business for its own staff or guests;
  • link to any page on the site.

What you may not do

Without written permission, you may not:

  • republish substantial parts of our text, prompt packs or printables on another website, app or publication;
  • sell our printables or prompt packs, or include them in a product that is sold;
  • remove the site name from printables that you distribute;
  • use automated tools to copy the site in bulk, or interfere with its operation.

Traditional games themselves — their names and basic mechanics — are not ours, and nothing here restricts you from playing, teaching or writing about them in your own words.

Ownership

The explanations, example rounds, prompts, diagrams, illustrations, printables, design and code on this site are protected by copyright and belong to the site’s operator, except where a licence register entry says otherwise (for example, open-source fonts). Third-party materials are used under their own licences.

Play sensibly

The games here are ordinary social games. You are responsible for how you run them.

  • Clear enough space for any game that involves moving, and keep drinks and breakable objects out of the way.
  • Supervise children. The site is written for adult hosts.
  • Let every guest choose whether and how to take part, including choosing a seated version.
  • Do not pressure anyone to share personal information.

Nothing on this site is medical, therapeutic, legal or professional advice. We make no claim that any game has a health or educational benefit.

Estimates and accuracy

Play times, preparation times and group sizes are editorial estimates intended to help you plan. They are not guarantees. We work to keep the site accurate and correct errors we learn about, but the site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from use of the site or from playing the games described on it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

The site links to a small number of external websites for reference. We are not responsible for their content. If advertising appears on the site, advertisements are supplied by third parties, are clearly labelled, and are not endorsements.
