Privacy Policy
The short version
- You cannot create an account here, and we never ask for your name or email address.
- Games you save and plans you make in My Night are stored only in your own browser. They are never sent to us.
- The site is made of static pages. There are no forms that send us information.
- The current status box at the top of this page tells you whether advertising or analytics are active right now.
Who is responsible
This site is operated by the person or organisation named in the status box above. You can reach the operator through the contact page.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect or store names, email addresses, passwords, payment details, precise location, contacts, photographs or any other personal profile information. We have no user database.
Information stored on your device
To make a few features work, the site stores small amounts of data in your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device.
| What | Storage key | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saved games and prompt packs | gp:saved:v1 | Shows your saved items on the Saved page | Until you remove them or clear browser data |
| My Night plan, including your notes | gp:night:v1 | Keeps your running order and host notes | Until you clear it or clear browser data |
| Preferences | gp:prefs:v1 | Remembers choices such as large text and timer sound | Until you clear browser data |
| Homepage intro seen | gp:intro (session storage) | Avoids replaying the opening animation | Until you close the tab |
Your notes never leave your device. Text you type into My Night is not sent to us, is not placed in page addresses, and is not included in any analytics or advertising request.
You can delete all of this at any time with the Clear my saved data button on the My Night page, or by clearing site data in your browser. If your browser blocks storage, the features still work for the current visit and nothing is saved.
Information processed when you visit
Like every website, this one is delivered by a hosting provider. Our host, Cloudflare, Inc., processes technical information that your browser sends with each request — such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — in order to deliver pages and to protect the service from abuse. We do not use this information to identify you, and we do not combine it with anything else. Cloudflare’s handling of this data is described in its own privacy policy.
All fonts and scripts are served from our own domain. Unless the status box says advertising or analytics are active, the site makes no requests to third-party advertising, analytics or social-media services.
Advertising
If the status box says advertising is off, no advertising scripts are loaded and no advertising cookies are set by this site.
If advertising is on, some editorial pages show advertisements supplied by Google AdSense. In that case:
- Google and its partners may use cookies or similar identifiers to show and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have agreed to them.
- Where the law requires it, you are asked for your consent first through a Google-certified consent management platform, and you can change your choice at any time through the Privacy choices link in the footer.
- Advertisements never appear in host mode, on the Search, Saved or My Night pages, on error pages, or on legal pages such as this one.
- You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Analytics
If the status box says analytics is off, we do not measure visits in your browser at all.
If analytics is on, and you have consented where consent is required, we record only coarse, anonymous events — that a game page was viewed, that the finder was used, that a game was added to a plan, that host mode was opened, or that a printable was downloaded. We never record names, your notes, the content of prompt cards you view, or the text you type into search.
Children
This site is written for adult hosts. It is not directed at children, has no accounts, and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your choices and rights
Because we hold no personal profile about you, there is usually nothing for us to look up, correct or delete. Depending on where you live — for example, in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or certain US states — you may have legal rights to access, delete or object to the processing of personal data, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for advertising. When advertising is active, you can exercise advertising choices through the Privacy choices link in the footer. For any other request, please use the contact page.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site works — for example, by enabling advertising — we will update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
